Galama Art Zagreb Special

Galama Art Zagreb Special

This is the first episode of the interview series recorded during the Zagreb study visit within the Exchange Leaders Grant program, supported by the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project.

In this conversation, Antun Aleksa, member of the JeboTon collective and musician of the band Porto Morto, speaks about the importance of community, creative exchange, and collective energy in shaping a sustainable and inspiring artistic scene.

This is the second episode of the interview series recorded during the Zagreb study visit within the Exchange Leaders Grant program, supported by the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) initiative.

In this conversation, Laura Matijašević, bassist of nemanja and founder of 44BookingBiro, speaks openly about transitioning from performing to booking, building networks through trust, navigating both regional and EU music ecosystems, and learning by doing alongside the people you create with. Her story shows that music scenes are not built on plans, but on people and that communities, not individuals, shape long-lasting movement.

The third episode of Galama Art Zagreb Special brings a conversation with Laura Tandaric, music program curator at the legendary Zagreb club Močvara, drummer of Ki Klop and percussionist in the band nemanja.

In this episode, we explore the pillars of a thriving independent music scene:  why venues like Močvara matter for community and culture, how young and emerging bands are supported behind the scenes, what it means to build a space that serves the scene, not trends, and what the future of club culture in the region might look like.

The fourth episode of Galama Art Zagreb Special features Katja Jukić, a young, driven and talented marketing and PR manager at Zagreb’s iconic venues KSET, Tvornica Kulture, and Ki Klop.

With Katja, we explored the importance of KSET as a space that nurtures the next generation of creatives: from musicians to sound engineers, technicians, videographers, and producers. Through her perspective, we see how a club can be much more than a venue, it can be a classroom, a creative hub, and a launchpad for young people shaping the regional scene.

Galama Art Zagreb Special represents interview series recorded during the Zagreb study visit within the Exchange Leaders Grant program, supported by the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project.

The project Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) is funded by the European Union and aims to enhance dialogue in the Western Balkans by strengthening the cultural and creative sectors and developing their potential for socio-economic impact in the region.
